The History of Hilliard
The city of Hilliard is nestled between Big Darby creek and the Scioto River. John Reed Hilliard, in 1852, bought ten acres of western Franklin County which began the small farming community. First named Hilliard's Station, the town grew around the Picqua and Indiana railroad route. Hilliard's Station was the ideal shipping point for area farmers to receive supplies and for agricultural products to be shipped to market.
The Village of Hilliard officially became a city on December 12, 1960. Although all railroad services were ended in the early 1960s, Hilliard continued to grow with the development of large residential subdivisions and the completion of I-270. Today, Hilliard boasts over 25,000 residents and continues to grow while maintaining the friendly atmosphere that makes it a great place to live, raise a family, and grow.

Old Hilliardfest Street & Art Festival
Sponsored by the Hilliard Civic Association this two day festival features a car show, art demonstrations, and live music.
Franklin County Fair
Hilliard is the home of the Franklin County Fair.
4th of July Celebration
The annual parade is followed by a fireworks display that overlooks the west pool/municipal park.
